Within the editor: click on HELP then ABOUT PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS. As depicted early the popup window indicates the date of the update- which is then made available 1 to two weeks later. Not all updates are "pushed out" to everyone at the same time- all updates are generally made available to everyone within a few days though. A new version is going to be available in two orr three months so I would suspect that any updates pushed out now would be "behind the scenes" type of stuff- it wouldn't be any new features. One exception: Newer versions of Adobe camera raw can be installed manually- but generally you don't need to worry about those unless your camera requires it. ACR available in PSE has less features that the version of ACR found in Photoshop- some users of PSE think that they will get all the bells and whistles found in ACR that is in Photoshop, and that simply is not the case. There is no where you can go to and "download the latest update"- with one exception: Redownloading the PSE program wfrom your Adobe account usually contains the latest version (I actually did that a couple of weeks ago), and it was in fact the latest version. IF YOU CHOOSE TO DO THAT: log out off the editor first, then uninstall it.

Zero reason for a script- the program already provides the names- you have multiple choices once you click on the three dots. I now realize your screenshots are probably from photoshop- just click on the gear in the upper right corner of any brush set and choose show names.

Get ready to get mad..... Adobe changed it's activation policy last year They no longer reset activations. The "Manage devices" in your account area is for the creative cloud products such as Photoshop, NOT PSE. All that online thing with "an Adobe employee" may have been a scammer, and not an adobe employee. I am always a bit hesitant when I read about users talking about remote assistance- but there are many documented cases of actual Adobe employees helping. The main technique scammers have been using is to send you an unsolicited message (Adobe employees never ever do that) thru the forum offering "help". Adobe support representatives may sometimes request remote control of a customer's computer to troubleshoot issues, but only when initiated by the customer through official channels like phone or chat support. They typically use a tool called Bomgar for this purpose. It's crucial to be aware of potential scams and only grant remote access to individuals you have verified as genuine Adobe support staff through official contact methods. Some may offer solutions about "offline activation" and offer clear instructions: I an not aware of any of those offline methods working, they might work, I'm just not aware of any of them working. BOTTOM LINE: You can forget about using PSE 2024.

"This is disappointing considering it worked in PSE22 ..." I do believe your memory of it working in pse 2022 is wrong. It does not work with 16 bit images in PSE 2022- at least in my version of PSE 2022- A version I do not have any add ons or plug-ins installed. I have multiple versions of PSE installed, all the way back from pse 2010. I tried with both pse 2022, and pse 2020- both of which produced the exact same error message ( PSE calls it a "script alert"). I then tried with pse 2025- all updates, all my video drivers, all my OS drivers are up to date. PSE 2025 produced the same "script error", meaning, it cannot merge 16 bit images.

I'm not paid. I don't work for Adobe. I'm actually a sustitute teacher and cancer survivor. I just really like Photoshop (even though I suck at it,) but I am an expert at Photoshop Elements. So, a company should be punished because they do what companies are suppossed to- to make money for their shareholders?

You can forget about ever using that version, ever again. Adobe no longer does activation resets. This is the point that many users will mention "purpetual.... forever......... and I paid good money"-- If you do not have access to the old computer, and it has been installed on 2 computers, you are out of luck. Talking to a "live person" will not help either. I can't recommend purchasing a copy off of ebay, or at a yard sale: no telling how many times it has been installed. Right now PSE 2025 is full price- that means at checkout, when purchasing pse 2025 you can get it for $79.99 as a previous user. here is a link to the free 7 day trial: https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-elements/free-trial.html

Nothing deceitful about any of it- it's use, and implementation has been well documented since day 1 (jan 17, 2024- when limits on he use of generative credits were imposed). I fail to understand the "uproar" over charging for something that is software intensive to use. I get the impression that many users feel "entitled" to use everything, every single feature, simply because they are subscribing--- and photoshop have been subscription based for abotu 12 years now. Even the cheapest subscription (which I have) only costs me $10.85 a month- and I get 250 generative credits, and Adobe express premium (I'm a long time subscriber so I was "grandfathered in" to that program. If you have so much reliance of using the generative AI tools it's probably for a business- and that is something (A everything subscription to all cloud apps)- which is something you can write off as a business expense. This page, and it's a good one, was updated a couple of weeks ago. https://helpx.adobe.com/firefly/get-set-up/learn-the-basics/generative-credits-faq.html#monthly-generative-credits

You cannot in PSE. You would need Photoshop to record an action (a series of edting steps) that you could "Play back" on an image. PSE can play actions, but not record them. In the past with PSE I made screenshots of settings and used that. Here is how it would be done in Photoshop: (they do offer a free 7 day trial) Creating a custom Photoshop action for lighting, color, and balance Automating repetitive tasks like adjusting lighting, color, and balance in your photos can save you significant time and ensure consistency across a series of images. Photoshop actions allow you to record a series of steps and then play them back on other photos. Here's how to create a custom Photoshop action for lighting, color, and balance, incorporating best practices for non-destructive editing: 1. Prepare your workspace Open an image in Photoshop that you want to use as a basis for your action. Make sure the Actions panel is visible by going to Window > Actions. 2. Start recording the action In the Actions panel, click on the Create New Action button (the square icon with a plus sign). Give your action a descriptive name, like "My Lighting and Color Correction." Click Record. Photoshop will now record every step you take. 3. Perform non-destructive adjustments Remember, using adjustment layers is key for non-destructive editing, allowing you to easily modify or remove changes later without affecting the original image pixels. Lighting adjustments (e.g., Brightness/Contrast, Levels, Curves): Brightness/Contrast: Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Brightness/Contrast. Adjust the sliders in the Properties panel as needed. Moving the Brightness slider to the right brightens the image, and moving it to the left darkens it. Adjust the Contrast slider to increase or decrease image contrast. Levels: Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Levels. Use the sliders to set the shadow and highlight values by dragging the black and white Input Levels sliders to the edge of the first group of pixels on either end of the histogram. Drag the gray Input Levels (middle) slider to adjust the brightness of the middle tones. Curves: Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Curves. You can use the Curves adjustment layer to fine-tune tonal values and colors. Adjust the curve by adding points and dragging them to lighten or darken specific areas. You can also select individual color channels (Red, Green, Blue) to adjust color balance. Color adjustments (e.g., Color Balance, Hue/Saturation, Vibrance): Color Balance: Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Color Balance. Use the sliders to shift the color balance towards cyan/red, magenta/green, or yellow/blue. Hue/Saturation: Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Hue/Saturation. Use the Hue, Saturation, and Lightness sliders to modify the overall colors or specific color ranges. Vibrance: Go to Layer > New Adjustment Layer > Vibrance. The Vibrance slider affects the intensity of colors, primarily muted colors, while the Saturation slider increases the color intensity of all colors. 4. Stop recording When you are satisfied with your adjustments, click the Stop Recording button (the square icon) in the Actions panel. Your action is now created. 5. (Optional) Batch process with your new action If you want to apply your new action to multiple images at once, you can use the batch processing feature. Make sure all the images you want to process are in a single folder. Go to File > Automate > Batch. In the Batch dialog box, choose the action you just created from the list of available actions. Set the Source to "Folder" and select the folder containing your images. Set the Destination to "Folder" and choose where you want the edited images to be saved. Click OK to begin processing your images. Tips for effective actions Non-Destructive Editing: Always utilize adjustment layers, smart objects, and layer masks to preserve your original image data and allow for easy modifications. Layer Organization: Keep your adjustment layers organized and labeled within your action for clarity and easier editing. Smart Objects: Consider converting layers to Smart Objects before applying filters or transformations to maintain image quality. Save Regularly: Save your action (by quitting Photoshop) according to one Adobe Community discussion. Test Your Actions: Always test your actions on different images to ensure they produce the desired results and make adjustments as needed.

Two things come to mind, and one of them is prbably the problem. 1. Outdated video drivers. (this is probably the issue) 2. Loose / bad cable to monitor. This is rarelyy the issue, but even a kink in the cable can cause your problem.

I'm impressed that a 21 year old scanner ( which has stoped being supported years ago) even works. I think the route for you is to use the WIN7 drivers. https://canoncanada.custhelp.com/app/answers/answer_view/a_id/1007134/~/lide-25-scanner-driver-ver.-11.0.1.1a-%28windows-7-x64%2Fvista64%29 WIA is built into windows- is that an option for you? THE FOLLOWING IS A 100% A.I. RESPONSE The Canon CanoScan LiDE 25 is not officially supported on Windows 10 by Canon. However, the Windows 7 drivers may work with some limitations. Canon's website suggests using the Windows 7 drivers as a workaround. VueScan, a third-party software, offers drivers for the LiDE 25 on Windows 10 and can be used as an alternative. Detailed Explanation: Canon's Official Stance: Canon does not provide drivers for the LiDE 25 specifically for Windows 10. Their official support ends with Windows 8.1. Potential Workaround: Canon's support documentation indicates the Windows 7 drivers might function on Windows 10, but with unknown limitations. Using Windows 7 Drivers: Download the Windows 7 driver from Canon's website. Install the driver, potentially using compatibility mode if necessary. If it works, great! If not, you'll need to consider other options. VueScan as an Alternative: VueScan is a third-party software that provides drivers for various scanners, including the LiDE 25. It can be used as a standalone scanning application or with other software like Photoshop. VueScan offers features like multi-page PDF creation, color photo scanning, and automatic file naming. Other Potential Solutions: Compatibility Mode: Try installing the driver in compatibility mode for Windows 7 or even an earlier version like Windows XP. Virtual Machine: If all else fails, you could try creating a virtual machine with an older version of Windows that is compatible with the scanner. Phone Scanning: Consider using a scanning app on your smartphone as a simpler alternative.

I don't think it's so much an assumption on Adobe as it is that each new version generally has something new in the preference file that some other version does not, and that possible conflicts may arise from using a preference file from a previous version. For many users a preference file is used when adjusting brush settings, memory usage, and scratch disks. ALSO: for many users (an assumption on my part) they generally don't mess with the preference file at all, and that its ok as it is.

Each installation is it's own program, leaving previous versions untouched. Organizer: when you first run it in pse 2025 you are asked about importing previous catalogues. If you have brushes, or pallets, or shapes that you have added: It's a simple matter of copying and pasting each element (such as your brush libraries) from the previous version into the new version. You can manually install ACR (Adobe Camera Raw) 17.4.1 if you need to. I find that with a new install that auto creations and facial analysis are automatically turned on- it's easy to turn those off if you want to. Unlike photoshop (PSE's big brother) there really is not much else to configure i nregards to the interface. You probably would need to check everything in your preference file for both the editor, and the organizer- each has their own Preference file-- along with Premier Elements. I think that is whatyou are talking about are all preference file related options, correct?
